Real Home Cooking is a one-woman operation specializing in Personal Chef service, small scale catering, cooking lessons and food related writing. I bring to this business a lifelong passion for cooking, which began when I was so young that I had to stand on a chair to watch my grandmother cook. In my big Italian family, I had many role models who taught me to love and appreciate good food, both in the making and sharing it with others. My grandmother and my father taught me the simple joys of relishing the beauty and taste of a homegrown tomato in the heart of summer, and to savor the velvety texture of home made pasta. I have carried this passion with me throughout my life. In addition to my love of cooking, I bring to the kitchen hands on knowledge gained both through classes I've taken - including a course at the acclaimed Tante Marie's Cooking School in San Francisco – as well as many years spent working in the restaurant and service industry. I have been slowly building my Personal Chef business for the last 5 years. I work from Oakland but am available to serve the entire Bay area, with a specific focus on Alameda County. |
